Frederick William Hammond, born on December 27, 1960, is an American gospel singer, bass guitar player, and music producer. He is known as one of the most popular artists in modern gospel music. Fred Hammond mixes different music styles like R&B, hip-hop, and disco into his songs.

Fred Hammond's Music Journey
Fred Hammond has been a busy musician, both as a member of the gospel group Commissioned and as a solo artist. He has won and been nominated for many awards, including Grammy, Dove, and Stellar awards. He has been recognized for his singing, producing, and songwriting.
Starting with Commissioned
Hammond first became known when he played bass guitar for the gospel group The Winans. By 1985, he was one of the six original members of the group Commissioned. He helped create 10 of the group's 12 albums.
After his time with Commissioned, he became very famous in the gospel world. He sold millions of albums with his music group, Radical For Christ.
In 2002, Hammond rejoined Commissioned for a special project. He worked with members like Keith Staten, Marvin Sapp, and Marcus Cole to produce the Commissioned Reunion Live album.
Fred Hammond also produced a gospel song called "Make Me Like the Moon" in 2006. He even performed with Sean Combs on an album that was not released to the public.
