Fred Jordan is an American lawyer and politician from Oklahoma. He was born on January 3, 1974. He is a member of the Republican Party. From 2006 to 2014, he served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. In this role, he helped lead the House as one of the Majority Leaders.
Early Life and Education
Fred Jordan grew up in Dewey, Oklahoma. He went to Dewey High School. As a young person, he was an Eagle Scout. He still helps out with the Boy Scouts today.
In 1996, Fred graduated from Oklahoma State University. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree there. After that, he went to Iowa University and became a lawyer in 1999.
Serving His Country
After finishing law school, Fred Jordan joined the Marine Corps. He served for four years as a Captain. After his military service, he returned to Oklahoma.
Today, Fred and his wife, Kara, live in the Tulsa area. He is also a businessman.
His Time in Politics
Fred Jordan was first elected to the Oklahoma House of Representatives in November 2006. He represented the 69th District.
In 2013, the Speaker of the House, T.W. Shannon, chose Fred to be a Majority Leader. This is an important job where he helped guide the work of the House.
One of his main tasks was working on a big change to Oklahoma's workers' compensation system. This new plan helped move the system to be managed by an administrative office.
