Frederick O'Neal Vinson (born January 28, 1971) is an American basketball coach and former player. He is currently an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He played as a guard during his career.

Early Life and College Basketball
Fred Vinson was born in Murfreesboro, North Carolina. He went to college at Chowan Junior College and later at Georgia Tech.
Playing for Georgia Tech
While playing for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Fred Vinson was a standout player.
- In the 1993–94 season, he was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his team.
- He was also the third-highest scorer for the Yellow Jackets that season.
- Fred Vinson was especially good at shooting from long range. He led his team in three-point shots made (70) and had a great three-point shooting percentage (.402).
Professional Playing Career
After college, Fred Vinson played for several professional basketball teams.
NBA Teams
- In the 1994–95 NBA season, he played five games with the Atlanta Hawks.
- During the 1999–2000 NBA season, he played eight games for the Seattle SuperSonics. He averaged 1.6 points per game during his time with them.

- He continued as an assistant coach for the Pelicans until 2023.
