Frederick Trump was a German-American businessman. He was born as Friedrich Trump on March 14, 1869. He passed away on May 30, 1918. He was the grandfather of Donald Trump. Donald Trump later became the 45th President of the United States.
Frederick was born and grew up in Kallstadt, a town in what was then the Kingdom of Bavaria in Germany. When he was 16, in 1885, he moved to the United States.

Frederick Trump's Early Life and Business
Frederick started his business journey in 1891. He began buying and selling land in Seattle, Washington. This is called real estate.
Making Money in the Gold Rush
Later, Frederick moved to the Yukon in Canada. This was during the Klondike Gold Rush. Many people went there hoping to find gold. Frederick saw a chance to help these miners. He opened a restaurant in Whitehorse. This restaurant helped him earn a lot of money.
Family and Later Life
In 1901, Frederick went back to Kallstadt, Germany. There, he married Elisabeth Christ.
Some people believed he had left Germany to avoid joining the army. Because of this, the German government took away his citizenship in 1905. So, he returned to the United States with his family.
Frederick worked as a barber and managed a hotel. He also started buying more land in Queens, New York. He was doing well when he sadly passed away. He died during the 1918 flu pandemic.
