Freya Lim's Music Career
How Freya Started Singing
In 1999, Freya's singing talent was discovered. A famous music producer named Benjamin Lin Ming Yang heard her. Freya was singing a song by Sandy Lam at a KTV with friends. Benjamin Lin liked her voice a lot. Soon after, she signed with What's Music International Incorporated.
First Album Success
In 2000, Freya released her first music album. It was simply called Freya (林凡同名專輯). The first song on the album was a new version of Sandy Lam's classic hit Night's Too Dark. Other popular songs from the album included Anything Can Be Forgotten and Goodbye Seattle.
However, the song Living Alone (一個人生活) became the most popular. It was the ending theme song for a TV show called The Beauty Mermaid. This song was so popular that it was also covered in Cantonese by Hong Kong singer Vincy Chan. Freya's first album, Freya, sold 120,000 copies in Taiwan. It stayed on the Taiwan music charts for over six months!
