Freya's Music Journey
Freya Lim's singing talent was discovered in 1999. A famous music producer named Benjamin Lin Ming Yang heard her singing at a karaoke place. She was singing a song by the well-known Mandopop singer Sandy Lam. Benjamin Lin was impressed and signed her to a music company called What's Music International.
First Album Success
In 2000, Freya released her very first music album, simply called Freya. The album included a new version of Sandy Lam's classic song, Night's Too Dark. Other popular songs from the album were Anything Can Be Forgotten and Goodbye Seattle. However, the song Living Alone became the most famous. It was used as the ending theme for a TV series called The Beauty Mermaid.
The Freya album was a huge success! It sold 120,000 copies in Taiwan and stayed on the music charts for over six months.
