Friyie, whose real name is David Afriyie Obeng, is a Canadian singer and rapper. He was born on December 3, 1994. In 2017, his song "Money Team" became very popular. It was even used during the press conferences for a big boxing match between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor.
He released his first music collection, called an EP, on March 22, 2019. It was named ANF: Ain't Nothing Free. Music critics liked it a lot, with one even giving it a 9 out of 10 rating! Friyie was born in Toronto, Canada, on December 3, 1994. His parents were immigrants from Ghana. He grew up in a part of Toronto known for being a bit tough.
However, Friyie focused on his love for music and business. This helped him stay away from any street problems. He also went to York University and graduated.
Friyie's Music Career
Friyie's song "Come and Get It" was featured on mixtapes by DJ Charlie B. In 2017, his song "Money Team" gained millions of views around the world. It was featured on Showtime, Vice, and popular music playlists like Rap Caviar on Spotify. It also appeared on Apple Music and Billboard.
In the same year, Friyie performed before Cardi B at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He released his first big music project, ANF: Ain't Nothing Free, in 2019.
In June 2020, Friyie released another EP called Before the Flight. A special deluxe version came out three months later. In July 2020, he was featured on Dexta Daps' album Vent. This album reached the top 10 on the Billboard Reggae Chart.
