David Afriyie Obeng (born December 3, 1994), known as Friyie, is a Canadian singer, songwriter, and rapper. He became well-known when his 2017 song "Money Team" was used for the press conferences of the big boxing match between Mayweather and McGregor.

Friyie released his first extended play (EP) called ANF: Ain’t Nothing Free on March 22, 2019. This EP got great reviews from music critics. He has worked with famous artists like Roddy Ricch, NorthSideBenji, and Tory Lanez. He has also collaborated with Bun B, Rick Ross, and Dexta Daps.

Early Life and Music

Friyie was born in Toronto, Ontario, on December 3, 1994. His parents came from Ghana. He grew up in a part of Toronto called Jane and Finch. This area was known for being a bit challenging.

However, Friyie focused on his love for music and business from a young age. This helped him stay away from any troubles in his neighborhood. He also went to York University and earned his degree.

Friyie's Music Journey

Friyie's song "Come and Get It" was featured on mixtapes by DJ Charlie B. In 2017, his song "Money Team" became a huge hit. It gained millions of views around the world. The song was featured on Showtime, Vice, Spotify's Rap Caviar, Apple Music, and Billboard.

In the same year, Friyie had the amazing chance to open a show for superstar Cardi B. This happened at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. In 2019, he released his first big music project, ANF: Ain't Nothing Free.

In June 2020, Friyie released another EP called Before the Flight. A few months later, he released a special "deluxe" version of it. In July 2020, he was featured on Dexta Daps' album Vent. This album reached the top 10 on the Billboard Reggae Chart.
