Geography of Frizzleburg

Frizzleburg is found in the northwestern part of Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. It sits in the south-central area of Pulaski Township. To its south, Frizzleburg shares a border with Mahoning Township.

Major Roads in Frizzleburg

One important road, U.S. Route 422, also known as Ben Franklin Parkway, runs along the southwestern side of Frizzleburg. This route can take you about 8 miles (13 km) southeast to New Castle, which is the main town of Lawrence County. If you travel west-northwest on Route 422 for about 10 miles (16 km), you will reach the center of Youngstown, Ohio.

Another key road is Pennsylvania Route 551, which forms the eastern edge of Frizzleburg. Heading north on Route 551 for about 3 miles (5 km) leads to the village of Pulaski and Interstate 376. Going south on Route 551 for about 4 miles (6 km) will take you to Edinburg and U.S. Route 224.

Waterways and Land Area

Most of the water in Frizzleburg flows north, east, or southeast into the Shenango River. A smaller section on the southwestern side drains into Coffee Run and Marshall Run. These two streams are tributaries, meaning they flow into, the Mahoning River. The Shenango and Mahoning rivers eventually meet south of New Castle to form the Beaver River. The Beaver River then flows south into the Ohio River.
