It's located right next to the border with Mexico, very close to a Mexican city called Ciudad Miguel Alemán in the state of Tamaulipas. In 2020, about 172 people lived in Fronton. Before the 2010 census, three new communities were created from parts of Fronton. These new places were Guadalupe-Guerra, Sandoval, and Sunset. This change significantly reduced the number of people living directly in Fronton.
