About Fugazi's History
The band Fugazi formed in 1987 in Washington, D.C., USA. The members were Ian MacKaye, Guy Picciotto, Joe Lally, and Brendan Canty.
Before Fugazi, some of the members were already in other bands. Ian MacKaye, who was a singer and songwriter, had been in bands like Embrace and the well-known band Minor Threat. Guy Picciotto played guitar and was in a punk and emo band called Rites of Spring. Brendan Canty, who played drums, was also in Rites of Spring. For Joe Lally, playing bass in Fugazi was his first big band.
Fugazi's Music Style
Fugazi is known for their strong and unique sound. It's hard to put their music into just one category because they mix many different styles. The band wanted to sound different from other groups they knew.
Ian MacKaye and Guy Picciotto also had different ways of singing and writing songs. MacKaye liked to write songs that people could easily sing along to. Picciotto preferred to create more complex songs with many layers.
What Fugazi is Doing Today
Fugazi has not officially broken up. However, they haven't played any concerts since late 2002. This is because some of the band members decided to spend more time with their families.
Fugazi's Albums
Fugazi released several albums during their time together:

- Steady Diet of Nothing (1991)
- In on the Kill Taker (1993)
