Fulvio Collovati, born on May 9, 1957, is a famous Italian former football player. He was a strong defender, known for stopping opposing players. He played for the Italian national team and helped them win the 1982 FIFA World Cup. Many people thought he was one of Italy's best defenders in the 1970s and 1980s. He was a skilled player with good technique and was excellent at marking opponents and heading the ball.

Playing for Clubs

Fulvio Collovati was born in Teor, Italy. He started his football journey in the youth team of A.C. Milan. He made his first appearance in Italy's top league, Serie A, during the 1976–77 season. In that first season, he played 11 games and even helped his team win the Coppa Italia, a major Italian cup competition.

In the next season, he played more often. His big moment came in the 1978–79 season when he played 27 games and helped A.C. Milan win the scudetto, which is the Serie A league title.

After the 1979–80 season, A.C. Milan was moved down to Serie B, a lower league. Collovati decided to stay with the team. He played 36 games and scored two goals in the 1980–81 Serie B season. His efforts helped the club win the league title and get promoted back to Serie A.

In the 1981–82 season, back in Serie A, Milan won the Mitropa Cup, and Collovati was the team's captain. However, Milan was moved down to Serie B again that season. This time, Collovati, who was now playing for the Italian national team, decided to join Inter Milan, A.C. Milan's local rivals.

Time at Inter Milan and Other Clubs

In his first year with Inter Milan (1982–83), Collovati played in 28 games. He was always a key player in their defense. In September 1986, he moved to Udinese Calcio to be closer to his hometown. He stayed there for only one season, playing 20 games and scoring 2 goals.

He finished his career after playing two years for A.S. Roma (1987–88 and 1988–89). Then, he played four more years for Genoa C.F.C. (from 1989–90 to 1992–93). All these teams played in Serie A.
