Gafanha da Nazaré is a lively city and parish located in Portugal. It's part of the Ílhavo Municipality. In 2011, about 15,240 people lived here, covering an area of 16.44 square kilometers. This coastal town is very important for shipping and fishing. It has a big port called the Coastal Fishing Port and the Port of Aveiro.

History of Gafanha da Nazaré
The area became a parish on August 31, 1910. This was thanks to Prior Sardo and a special order from King Manuel II. It was the last Portuguese town to get royal recognition! Later, in 1969, Gafanha da Nazaré became a town. Then, on April 19, 2001, it was officially named a city.
Population Growth
The number of people living in Gafanha da Nazaré has grown a lot over the years. In 1911, there were just over 2,400 residents. By 2011, this number had increased to more than 15,000 people. This shows how the city has developed and become more popular.

Sports in Gafanha da Nazaré
G.D. Gafanha is a well-known sports club in the city. It was started in 1957. The club is most famous for its football (soccer) team. This team has been playing in the third level of Portuguese football since 2014–15. G.D. Gafanha also has teams for other sports. These include futsal, basketball, and athletics.
