Galilee is a small community in New Jersey. It is part of Monmouth Beach, which is in Monmouth County. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place with a name, but it doesn't have its own separate local government. Instead, it's governed by the larger town or borough it's located within.
Galilee got its name from the ancient Biblical region called Galilee. It started out as a place where people fished for a living.

Exploring Galilee's Location
Galilee is located at the very northern end of Monmouth Beach. It sits on a narrow strip of land called a peninsula. This peninsula has water on both sides. To the west, you'll find the Shrewsbury River. To the east, there's the big Atlantic Ocean.
What You'll See in Galilee
The land here gets very narrow between the river and the ocean. On the ocean side, you'll mostly see single-family homes. These are houses where one family lives. On the river side, there are buildings with many homes called condominiums. You can also find a marina here. A marina is like a parking lot for boats.
The Sea Wall Protecting Galilee
A very important structure in Galilee is the Sea Bright–Monmouth Beach Seawall. This is a strong wall built to protect the land from ocean waves. It helps keep the community safe from storms and erosion. The seawall goes through Galilee and continues into the nearby town of Sea Bright.
