Garray is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the province of Soria in Spain. It is part of the Castile and León region. Garray is famous for its very old history, especially because of an ancient city nearby.
Garray's Ancient Past
One of the most important places near Garray is the Numantia archaeological site. This was once an ancient Celtiberian city. The Celtiberians were groups of people who lived in this part of Spain a very long time ago.
Numantia is well-known for its role in the Celtiberian Wars. These were big conflicts between the powerful Roman Empire and the local Celtiberian tribes. The people of Numantia were incredibly brave. They fought against the Romans for many years. Their resistance is still remembered today as a symbol of courage.
