Gary James Kosins was an American football player. He played as a running back in the National Football League (NFL). Gary played for the Chicago Bears for three seasons. He also played college football for the Dayton Flyers.

Gary Kosins' Early Life and College Football
Gary James Kosins was born on January 21, 1949. His hometown was Warsaw, Indiana. He went to Chaminade Julienne Catholic High School in Dayton, Ohio. In 1967, as a senior, he was named a first-team all-state player. He finished high school in 1968.
College Football Career
Gary played football for the Dayton Flyers for four years. He was a key player from 1968 to 1971. In 1969, he ran for 783 yards and scored nine touchdowns. He also caught nine passes for 74 yards.
The next year, in 1970, Gary ran the ball 344 times. This was the most by any player in the country that season. He gained 1,172 yards and scored 18 touchdowns. In his final year, 1971, he rushed for 857 yards and 12 touchdowns. After his senior season, Gary played in two special games. He was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Blue–Gray Football Classic.
Gary Kosins' Professional Football Career
The Miami Dolphins picked Gary Kosins in the 1972 NFL draft. He was the 77th player chosen overall. However, he was with the Dolphins for only a short time.
Playing for the Chicago Bears
The Chicago Bears then signed Gary on September 13, 1972. He played in all 14 games for the Bears in his first year. He ran for five yards and caught two passes for 15 yards. He also scored one touchdown that season.
In 1973, Gary played in 12 games for the Bears. He ran for 65 yards. He also caught four passes. He played in all 14 games again in 1974. That year, he ran for 30 yards and scored one touchdown. Gary Kosins left the Bears team on August 5, 1975.
