Gaylon Harrel Nickerson was born on February 5, 1969. He is an American former professional basketball player. He played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and other leagues around the world. Gaylon grew up in Osceola, Arkansas. He went to several colleges, including Wichita State University and Kansas State University, to play basketball.

Playing Career Highlights
Gaylon Nickerson was chosen by the Atlanta Hawks in the 1994 NBA draft. He was the 34th player picked overall. During the 1996–97 NBA season, he played a few games for the San Antonio Spurs and the Washington Bullets.
Success in the CBA
Nickerson also played in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He was drafted into the CBA in 1994. He had a very successful time there.
- In 1996, he was named the CBA Newcomer of the Year. This award goes to a player who performs very well in their first year in the league.
- In 1997, he helped his team, the Oklahoma City Cavalry, win a CBA championship.
- He was also chosen for the All-CBA First Team in 1997. This means he was one of the best players in the league that year.
- During the 1996–97 season, he was the top scorer in the CBA. He averaged 22.5 points per game while playing for the Cavalry.

After his playing career, Gaylon "Skip" Nickerson started a program called GetYourGameTight, or "GYGT." He founded GYGT in 2007.
