The Gaznata is a river found in the center of Spain. It is a smaller river, also known as a tributary, that flows into the Alberche River.
About the Gaznata River
The Gaznata River starts at a place called Fuente del Cuadrón. This area is in Prado Cuadrón, near a town named La Cañada.
Where it Starts and Ends
The river flows south for about 27.20 kilometers (16.90 miles). It eventually joins the Alberche River. Specifically, it flows into the El Burguillo Reservoir, which is part of the Alberche. The area of land that drains water into the Gaznata River is 164.20 square kilometers. This area is called its catchment basin.
What's in a Name?
Experts believe the name Gaznata might come from an old language called Berber. It could have meant "Wād-al-Zanāta". "Zanāta" was the name of an ancient Berber tribe called the Zenata.
