Luís Carlos Tóffoli, often called Gaúcho, was a Brazilian football player and coach. He was born on March 7, 1964, in Canoas, Rio Grande do Sul, and passed away on March 17, 2016.

Gaúcho started his football journey in the youth teams of Flamengo, a famous club in Rio de Janeiro. In 1984, he began his professional career playing for Grêmio. The next year, he moved to Atlético Clube Goianiense.

In 1990, Gaúcho returned to his former youth club, Flamengo, signing a three-year contract. This was a very successful time for him. He helped Flamengo win the Copa do Brasil in 1990, the Rio State Championship in 1991, and the Brazilian Série A in 1992. During these years, he played 198 matches and scored an impressive 98 goals.

After his contract with Flamengo ended, he joined Lecce, an Italian team. However, he only played five games there and soon left. He then signed with Boca Juniors in Argentina, but he couldn't find the same success he had at Flamengo.

Gaúcho sadly died on March 17, 2016, due to prostate cancer.
