General Burnside Island State Park is a special place located in Pulaski County, Kentucky, just south of Somerset, Kentucky. This park covers about 430 acres and is unique because it's Kentucky's only state park located on an island! It sits right in the middle of Lake Cumberland.
The park is named after a famous person from history, General Ambrose Burnside. He was a Union general during the American Civil War. General Burnside and his troops stayed in this area a long time ago.
