Geneva was first planned out in 1871. It officially became a town in 1903.

The average age in Geneva was 42.6 years. About 23.5% of the people were under 20 years old. Also, 25.7% were 65 years old or older. The population was almost evenly split between males (51.5%) and females (48.5%).
2010 Census Information

Education in Geneva
The AGWSR Community School District manages the public schools in the area. This school district was formed on July 1, 2001. It was created when the Wellsburg-Steamboat Rock Community School District and the Ackley–Geneva Community School District joined together.
