Genevieve May Fox (born in 1888, died in 1959) was an American writer. She is most famous for her exciting adventure books for girls. She wrote these popular stories in the first half of the 1900s.

About Genevieve Fox's Life

Genevieve Fox was born in Southampton, Massachusetts. She went to Smith College and finished her studies in 1911. While studying, she became very interested in how workers were treated. She even wrote books about this important topic.

Around this time, she met Raymond Garfield Fuller. He was two years older than her and was also very interested in fairness for workers, especially for children who had to work. Raymond was a journalist and a sociologist, which means he studied society and how people live together. He wrote many articles and gave talks about child labor in the 1930s.

Genevieve and Raymond lived in Eaton Center, New Hampshire, and later moved to New York City. Most of Genevieve Fox's adventure books were written in the 1930s and 1940s. Her first book, Mountain Girl, came out in 1932. Her last book, Bonnie, Island Girl, was published in 1951. Her books were very popular back then, and many of them were even translated into other languages.

Genevieve Fox passed away in Bar Harbor, Maine, in 1959. Her husband, Raymond, died the next year. They are both buried in Ledgelawn Cemetery in Bar Harbor.
