George "Wild Child" Butler (October 1, 1936 – March 1, 2005) was an amazing American blues musician. He was known for playing the harmonica and singing. He created music that touched many people.
Becoming a Blues Star
George Butler was born in Autaugaville, Alabama. He started playing blues music with bands in the late 1950s. He didn't become widely known until 1966. That's when he moved to Chicago, a big city for blues music.
In Chicago, he signed with a record company called Jewel Records. His first recordings were made with other talented musicians. These included Willie Dixon, Cash McCall, and Jimmy Dawkins. In 1969, he recorded another album for Mercury Records.
Later, in 1981, George moved to Ontario, Canada. He continued to play music regularly there. In the 1990s, he started recording new albums in England. He worked with a famous music producer named Mike Vernon. This led to two albums released on Bullseye Blues.
George "Wild Child" Butler died in Windsor, Ontario, in 2005. He was 68 years old. He left behind a legacy of great blues music.
