George Edward Lowe (born November 10, 1957 – died March 2, 2025) was an American voice actor and comedian. He was famous for lending his voice to characters in many animated shows. His most well-known role was the superhero Space Ghost. He voiced Space Ghost in the popular cartoon Space Ghost Coast to Coast and its spin-off, Cartoon Planet. George Lowe also appeared in other shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Robot Chicken.

Early Life and First Job
George Lowe was born in Dunedin, Florida, on November 10, 1957. He grew up in a nearby town called Brooksville. When he was just 15 years old, George got his first job at a local radio station named WWJB. He finished high school at Hernando High School in 1975. After that, he studied at the Radio Engineering Institute of Sarasota and Pasco–Hernando Community College.

Becoming Space Ghost
In the late 1980s and early 1990s, George Lowe did voice-over work for TV channels like TBS and Cartoon Network. His career as a voice actor really took off in 1994. That's when Space Ghost Coast to Coast first aired, and he played the main character, Space Ghost.
The show Space Ghost Coast to Coast ran for ten years. New episodes aired on Cartoon Network and Adult Swim until 2004. It was later brought back for two more seasons from 2006 to 2008. George Lowe voiced Space Ghost more than any other character in his career. He played the hero more often than any other actor.
Space Ghost's Many Appearances
Besides Space Ghost Coast to Coast and Cartoon Planet, George Lowe voiced Space Ghost in many other shows. These included Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, The Brak Show, and Robot Chicken. He also voiced Space Ghost in Perfect Hair Forever and other Adult Swim series. He even used Space Ghost's voice for Cartoon Network's merchandise phone sales line.
George Lowe sometimes performed live as Space Ghost, wearing the costume. He did this for the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters premiere. He also voiced Space Ghost in the 2011 video game Cartoon Network: Punch Time Explosion. In this game, Space Ghost was the announcer.
Other Voice Roles
George Lowe recorded lines for the movie Radioland Murders. However, his parts were not included in the final film. He also appeared in an episode of Sealab 2021 as Dick, a company CEO.
He played himself as a recurring character on Aqua Teen Hunger Force. In each episode, his character had a different job. He also voiced "Jet Chicken" on that show. George Lowe also provided voices for many episodes of Robot Chicken. One of his well-known roles there was the Unicorn.

George Lowe was a recurring character in games by Artix Entertainment. He made guest voice appearances in online games like AdventureQuest Worlds and Mech Quest. In these games, he often played a park ranger or a parody character. He also narrated events and even became a character players could fight in EpicDuel.

In July 2023, news came out that George Lowe was recovering from health issues. He passed away in Lakeland, Florida, on March 2, 2025. He was 67 years old. His passing happened while he was recovering from heart surgery he had in November.
