Georgetown is a small place in Ohio, United States. It's called an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or village. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Short Creek Township in Harrison County.
You can find Georgetown west of Adena. It is located right where two roads meet: Cadiz-Harrisville Road (also known as U.S. Route 250) and Georgetown Road (County Route 41).
History of Georgetown
Georgetown was officially planned and laid out in the year 1814. A person named George Riggle was responsible for creating the town's plan. The community was then named "Georgetown" in his honor.
