Giampiero Pinzi, born on March 11, 1981, is a former Italian professional footballer. He played as a midfielder. He was known for his long career in Italian football, especially with Udinese.
Club Career
Lazio
Pinzi started his football journey with Lazio. He joined their main team in 1999. This was a big step for him, as Lazio is a famous club in Italy's top league, Serie A.
Udinese
After playing for Lazio for one year, Pinzi moved to Udinese in 2000. He spent a large part of his career here, playing for 15 years. He became a very important player for the team.
During the 2010–11 Serie A season, Pinzi returned to Udinese. He played a key role in the team's midfield. He helped create many scoring chances for his teammates. He even provided 6 assists that season.
Later, he changed his playing position to an attacking midfielder. He often played alongside the team's star forward, Antonio Di Natale. In October 2012, Pinzi signed a new contract with Udinese. This showed how much the club valued him.
Chievo
Pinzi also spent some time playing for Chievo. He first joined them on loan from Udinese. On July 17, 2009, Chievo decided to keep him for another season.
After his long time at Udinese, Pinzi returned to Chievo. This happened on August 31, 2015. It was the last day of the transfer window. He had played for Chievo before, from 2008 to 2010.
Brescia
On August 10, 2016, Pinzi moved to Brescia. This club plays in Serie B, which is the second-highest football league in Italy. He joined them as a free agent.
Padova
Pinzi later joined Padova. On January 8, 2019, he left the club. Both Pinzi and Padova agreed to end his contract early.
International Career
Giampiero Pinzi also played for Italy's national football teams. He was part of the Under-21 Italian team. With them, he won the 2004 UEFA European Under-21 Championship. This was a big achievement for the team.
He also won a bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. This was for the football competition. Pinzi made his debut for the senior Italian team in 2005. This was his only match for the main national team.
