Calcio Padova, often called Padova, is an Italian football club from Padua, Veneto. The club started in 1910. Padova currently plays in Serie C Group B. Their last time in Serie A, Italy's top league, was in 1996. The team's official colors are white and red.
The club was restarted in 2014. This happened after the original club had problems and was removed from the league. A new club, Biancoscudati Padova, took its place for the 2014–15 Serie D season. In 2015, the original Padova changed its name to Football Padova. This allowed the new club to use the historic name, Calcio Padova.

History of Calcio Padova
In the 1940s, a famous coach named Béla Guttmann led the team. Padova's best years were in the late 1950s. Under coach Nereo Rocco, they reached third place in the league in 1958. This was helped by the amazing skills of player Kurt Hamrin. Forwards Sergio Brighenti and Aurelio Milani were also key players. Padova stayed strong in Serie A until they were moved down to a lower league in 1962.
The club spent the rest of the 1960s in Serie B, which is the second division. Then, they went through a tough period before getting better in the 1980s.
Return to Top Leagues
Padova returned to Serie B in the early 1980s. Within ten years, they were trying to get back into Serie A. In 1994, they won a special play-off game against Cesena. This win brought them back to Serie A after 32 years!
The 1994–95 Serie A season started badly for Padova. Many thought they would quickly go back to Serie B. But they improved a lot in the second half of the season. They even won 1–0 against Juventus away from home. This put them six points away from the relegation zone. However, they ended up playing a special game against Genoa to avoid being moved down. Padova won this game in a penalty shoot-out.
The next year, in 1995–96 Serie A, they were not as lucky and were moved down. They faced more relegations in 1998 and 1999. Since 2001, they have mostly played in Serie C1 and Lega Pro Prima Divisione. The team returned to Serie B at the end of the 2008–2009 season.
In total, Calcio Padova has played in Italy's top football divisions many times. They were runners-up in the Coppa Italia cup in 1967. They also won a Coppa Italia Serie C in 1980.
In the 2013–14 Serie B season, Padova was moved down after finishing 20th. On July 15, 2014, the team did not sign up for the 2014–15 Lega Pro championship. In April 2015, the company officially closed down.
The New Beginning: Biancoscudati Padova
A new club was started in the summer of 2014. It was named Società Sportiva Dilettantistica a r.l. Biancoscudati Padova. This happened because the old Calcio Padova could not join the professional leagues.
The first official game for Biancoscudati Padova was against Castellana on August 24, 2014. They won 2–0 in the Coppa Italia Serie D.
On April 19, 2015, the team won 2–1 against Legnago. This win meant they were promoted to Lega Pro.
On June 5, 2015, the club changed its name to Biancoscudati Padova Spa.
Then, on July 6, 2015, it changed its name again to Calcio Padova Spa. This was possible because the old Calcio Padova had changed its name to Football Padova Spa – società in liquidazione. This allowed the new club to carry on the original name and history.
