Gigalum Island, also known simply as Gigalum, is a very small, private island located off the southeast coast of Gigha in Scotland. It is an uninhabited island, meaning no one lives there permanently.
This tiny island is known for having a modern house right in its middle. It also gives its name to the narrow stretch of water between it and the larger island of Gigha, which is called "Caolas Gigalum".

What is Gigalum Island?
Gigalum Island is a small piece of land surrounded by water. It is considered a private island, which means it is owned by an individual or a group, not by the public. Even though it has a house, no one lives there all the time.
Where is Gigalum located?
Gigalum Island is found in Scotland. It sits just off the coast of Gigha, which is one of the Inner Hebrides islands. These islands are located on the west side of Scotland. The area is part of Argyll and Bute, a local authority in Scotland.
Features of Gigalum and its Surroundings
Gigalum Island is not just a single piece of land. It is part of a small group of features in the sea. These features are named after the island itself.
Nearby Rocks and Islets
To the east of Gigalum Island, there is a reef called "Gigalum Rocks". A reef is a ridge of rocks, sand, or coral near the surface of the water. About a mile to the north-northeast, you can find "Sgeir Gigalum". This is another rocky area.
The island is also close to another small islet. An islet is a very small island. This one is called "Eilean na h-Uilinn". Its name literally means "Island of the Elbow". These names help sailors and locals understand the geography of the area.
