Gisela Valcárcel, born Sonia Mercedes Gisela Valcárcel Álvarez on January 26, 1963, is a famous Peruvian TV host, actress, and businesswoman. She is well-known for her popular television shows. Gisela also owns and runs beauty salons and spas in Lima. She has been the director of magazines like Gisela and Amarige. She also leads her own TV production company, GV Productions. This company creates shows like El Show de los sueños (Peru), América Hoy, and El Gran Show.

Early Life and Beginnings

Gisela Valcárcel was born on January 26, 1963. Her parents are Jorge Valcárcel and Teresa Álvarez. She went to school at Institución Educativa Teresa González de Fanning. Before becoming famous, Gisela worked as a secretary. She also took on small roles as an extra in theater plays.

Gisela's TV Career

Gisela's career took off when she was working as a receptionist at Panamericana Televisión. She had a memorable moment on live TV with singer Oscar D'León. This helped her become instantly famous. She started as a comic actress and dancer in shows like Risas y Salsa.

Becoming a Daytime TV Star

In 1987, Panamericana Televisión offered Gisela her own show. It was called "Aló Gisela." This show made her the "queen of daytime television" in Peru. Her show was very popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Many famous Latin American stars appeared on her show. These included Chayanne, Julio Iglesias, Luis Miguel, and Shakira.

Later, Gisela also hosted popular Saturday night TV shows. In the early 2000s, she hosted a local version of Big Brother. It was called La Casa de Gisela.

Her company, Espíritu y GV Producciones, also produces TV series. For example, they produced the mini-series Llauca, which came out in 2021.

Personal Life

Gisela Valcárcel has been married twice. On June 10, 1995, she married soccer player Roberto Martínez Vera-Tudela. They later divorced. In 2006, she married architect Javier Carmona. They separated shortly after their marriage. Gisela has one daughter, Ethel Pozo, who was born in 1980.
