Gisikon is a small town, also called a municipality, in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Lucerne.

History of Gisikon

Gisikon was first mentioned around the year 1270. Back then, it was known as Gisinkon.

Later, in the 19th century, people sometimes called the town Gislikon. This was often when they talked about a battle that happened there on November 23, 1847. This battle was part of the Sonderbund War. Another battle also took place near Gisikon on June 5, 1653, during the Swiss peasant war of 1653.

Geography of Gisikon

Gisikon covers a small area of about 1.1 square kilometers (0.4 square miles). A big part of this land, about half, is used for farming. About 20% of the area is covered by forests.
