Glassy Mountain is a beautiful mountain located in Rabun County, Georgia. It's part of the huge Chattahoochee National Forest, a protected area known for its amazing nature. A busy two-lane highway, which includes U.S. Route 76 and Georgia State Route 2, passes by the northern side of the mountain. This road helps people travel east and west through the area.

Weather Station and Communication

One of the most important things on Glassy Mountain is the NOAA Weather Radio station KXI81. This station broadcasts important weather alerts and information to many nearby areas.

• The station's signals reach parts of northeast Georgia, upstate South Carolina, and western North Carolina.

Towers on the Summit

At the very top of Glassy Mountain, you'll find two important towers:

• A tall radio tower helps send and receive signals for the weather station and other communications.
