A Look Back in Time
Glenn was named after an early settler in the area, Mr. George Glenn. He was one of the first white people to live here. Mr. Glenn had a special business called a "tanning yard." This was a place where animal hides, like cow or deer skins, were processed to make leather. It was one of the first businesses in the community.
Later, in 1887, Glenn got its own post office. Mr. Thomas S. DeLoach was the very first postmaster. He helped people send and receive mail in the community.
