Glynde Place is a beautiful old house in Glynde, East Sussex, England. It's located inside the South Downs National Park. This amazing house was built way back in 1569. It was built by the ancestors of the Viscounts Hampden, who still live there today! It's considered a very important historical building. This means it is a Grade I listed building. Right next to the house, there's also an old church that was built in the 1700s.
The family who owned Glynde Place also had a lot of land. In 1883, their estate included over 22,000 acres (about 89 square kilometers) across several counties in England.
Between 2008 and 2013, Glynde Place had a big makeover. The 7th Viscount Hampden organized this major renovation. The money for the work came from selling one of the valuable paintings from the estate.
Today, you can visit Glynde Place and its gardens. The gardens are also very special and are listed as Grade II*. You can take tours to explore this historic home and its beautiful surroundings.
