Starting His Journey in Nigeria
Godfrey Oboabona began his football career in his home country, Nigeria. He was born in Ondo City. His first professional club was Sunshine Stars. He played for them from 2010 to 2013.
Playing in Europe and Asia
In August 2013, Godfrey made a big move to Europe. He signed a four-year contract with Çaykur Rizespor, a football club in Turkey. He was very excited about this transfer, calling it a "dream move." He played for Çaykur Rizespor until 2017.
After his time in Turkey, Godfrey moved to Saudi Arabia. He joined Al-Ahli in 2017 and played there for one season. In September 2018, he returned to Europe. He joined HNK Gorica in the Croatian First Football League, which is the top football league in Croatia.
Later, in February 2020, Godfrey signed with FC Dinamo Batumi. This club is located in Georgia.
Representing Nigeria: International Career
Godfrey Oboabona also played for his country, Nigeria. He made his first appearance for the Nigerian national team in 2012. He played in important matches, including those for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
