History of Goff
Goff started in the year 1880. This was when a railroad was built through the area, which helped the town grow. The city was named after Edward H. Goff, who was an important official for the Central Branch Union Pacific Railroad.
For a while, the local post office had a slightly different name. From 1880 until 1894, it was officially spelled "Goff's" before it became just "Goff." In 1887, Goff officially became an incorporated city.
