History of Golden
Golden got its name from its first postmaster, James M. Golden. A postmaster is the person in charge of a post office. The community's post office first opened on March 13, 1911. It still uses the ZIP code 74737 today.
On April 2, 1982, a very strong tornado passed through the area. This storm caused damage to some buildings in the community.
