Golden Oak is a special neighborhood located inside the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. It was designed by the amazing people at Walt Disney Imagineering, who create all the Disney parks and attractions. A Disney company called Golden Oak Realty runs it.

This community is found southeast of the famous Magic Kingdom Park. It's named after Walt Disney's own Golden Oak Ranch in California. The first homes were ready for families to buy in 2010 and were finished by 2011. A fancy Four Seasons hotel is also nearby.

In 2023, the Wall Street Journal newspaper wrote about Golden Oak. They said the homes there can cost from a few million dollars up to nearly $20 million. Many houses are filled with Disney items and have rooms decorated with themes from Disney movies.

What is Golden Oak?

The Golden Oak community was first announced on June 23, 2010. This neighborhood has many lakes and a small river. It also has a special clubhouse that looks like an Italian villa.

The clubhouse offers a game room, a restaurant, and a pool for everyone who lives there. It's also where many fun social events happen for the community. Some homes in Golden Oak are located so that residents can see and hear the nightly fireworks from the nearby Magic Kingdom theme park.

Golden Oak Neighborhoods

Golden Oak has several different neighborhoods. Each one is designed with a unique architectural style.

Kimball Trace Homes

Kimball Trace has homes designed in a Tuscan style. These houses are usually between 3,000 and 5,000 square feet. This neighborhood is named after Ward Kimball, a famous Disney animator. He was one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" who created many classic cartoons.

Silverbrook Residences

The name Silverbrook was inspired by the first big animation studio Walt and Roy Disney owned. This studio was called "Walt Disney Studios" and was located in Silver Lake, Los Angeles. Homes in Silverbrook are larger, ranging from 5,000 to 7,000 square feet.

Carolwood Estates

Carolwood is located at the very north end of the Golden Oak development. This area has the largest houses in the community. It was once part of an old golf course. The name Carolwood comes from Walt Disney's private railroad. He built this railroad before Disneyland opened in 1955.

Marceline Houses

Marceline includes two parks for residents to enjoy. The houses in this neighborhood are between 3,800 and 6,000 square feet. This area is named after Marceline, Missouri, which was Walt Disney's hometown when he was a child.

Kingswell Properties

This neighborhood is named after the street in Los Angeles where Walt and Roy Disney started their animation studio in 1923. Houses in Kingswell are typically between 5,000 and 7,000 square feet. The first homes here were built on lots that were about half an acre in size.

Symphony Grove Homesites

The name Symphony Grove is a tribute to Walt Disney's animated short films called Silly Symphonies. The homesites in this neighborhood are about a quarter of an acre. The houses here are expected to be between 3,600 and 4,900 square feet.
