Gould City is a small, unincorporated community in Garfield County, Washington. An "unincorporated community" means it's not an official town with its own local government.
It is located where two creeks, North Deadman Creek and South Deadman Creek, meet to form Deadman Creek. This area is a narrow, deep valley. Today, Gould City is mostly a ghost town, meaning very few or no people live there anymore.
History of Gould City
Gould City was first planned and settled in 1891. In the same year, a post office was opened there. This post office helped people send and receive mail. It stayed open for many years, finally closing in 1913. After the post office closed, fewer people lived in Gould City. This is why it became a ghost town.
