The Government of the Republic of Belarus (Belarusian: Урад Рэспублікі Беларусь) is like the main team that runs the country of Belarus. It's also known as the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus (Belarusian: Савет Міністраў Рэспублікі Беларусь). This team is in charge of making sure the country's laws are followed and that everything works smoothly.

The President of Belarus chooses the members of this government team. The President is also the main leader of the government. They help guide what the government focuses on and direct the different ministers. The National Assembly of Belarus acts like the country's parliament, where laws are made and discussed.

Who is in the Council of Ministers?

The Council of Ministers is the main part of the government that carries out the country's plans. As of August 19, 2020, there were 30 members in this Council. It also includes the head of the President's office and leaders of special State Committees. These leaders are part of the Council even if they are not officially called "ministers."

Some very important officials form a smaller group called the Presidium of the Council of Ministers. This group includes the Prime Minister, the First Deputy Prime Minister, other Deputy Prime Ministers, and the ministers for economy, finance, and foreign affairs. The head of the President's office and the chairman of the State Control Committee are also in this special group. These key people are highlighted in yellow in the list below.

The previous government members all stepped down on August 17, 2020. A new government was then put in place on August 19, 2020. Most of the people in the new government were the same as before.
