A Glimpse into Graceton's Past
Long ago, Graceton was a stop on the Canadian Pacific railway line. This meant trains would regularly stop there. Today, it is known as a "whistle stop." This means trains only stop if someone on board wants to get off, or if someone on the ground signals for the train to pick them up.
A significant event in Graceton's history was the Baudette Fire of 1910. This large fire caused a lot of damage. Much of Graceton was burned to the ground during this event. The community had to rebuild after the fire.
