Graham John Yost (born September 5, 1959) is a Canadian screenwriter who creates stories for movies and television shows. He is famous for writing the action movie Speed and for creating popular TV series like Justified and Silo.

Early Life and Education
Graham Yost was born in Etobicoke, a part of Toronto, Canada. His father was Elwy Yost, a well-known Canadian TV host. Elwy Yost hosted a popular show about movies called Saturday Night at the Movies.
Growing up around movies and television inspired Graham to pursue a career in entertainment. He went to the University of Toronto Schools and later graduated from Trinity College at the University of Toronto.
Career in Film and Television
Yost began his career in the early 1990s. He wrote for a TV comedy called Herman's Head. Soon after, he became famous for writing the screenplay for the hit 1994 action movie Speed, starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.
He also wrote other exciting movies like Broken Arrow and Hard Rain.
