Grand River is a small city located in the northwest part of Decatur County, in the state of Iowa, United States. In 2020, about 196 people lived there.

History of Grand River

Grand River started as a town in 1881. This happened after the Humeston and Shenandoah Railroad was built through the area, which helped the town grow.

Geography of Grand River

Grand River is located next to the Thompson River. This river flows into the larger Grand River. The city is quite small, covering about 0.21 square miles (0.54 square kilometers) of land. All of this area is dry land.
