History of Gravity
Gravity started in 1881 when a railroad was built through the area. It officially became a city in 1883. No one is quite sure how the city got its interesting name, "Gravity."
Geography and Location
Gravity is located along the Middle Fork One Hundred and Two River. This river is an important part of the local landscape.
The city covers a total area of about 0.30 square miles (0.87 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no large bodies of water.
You can find Gravity north of Bedford along Iowa Highway 148.
