Greencreek was founded a long time ago, in the 1800s. By 1960, about 50 people lived there.

Community Gathering Places
The Greencreek Community Hall is a very important place. People often rent it for special events like weddings. It also hosts community yard sales and Christmas parties. Every year, the community celebrates the Fourth of July there.
A group of elected people manages the Community Hall. They make sure it stays in good condition. The hall has been improved over time with new heating, a commercial kitchen, and bathrooms that are easy for everyone to use.
There is also a Catholic church in Greencreek called Saint Anthony's Parish. A group called the "Saint Anthony's Society" helps run the church. They also organize community service projects. Their biggest event is the Greencreek Fourth of July celebration. Another women's group, the "Altar Society," helps out in similar ways.

Greencreek has a 4-H club called the Greencreek Active Workers. This is the oldest active 4-H club in all of Idaho County! Kids in 4-H learn many skills. They often raise animals for the fair. They also work on projects like cooking, sewing, and welding.
The 4-H club helps the community too. They painted the Greencreek "G" on the west side of town. They also organize an annual clean-up of the roadsides.
Farming is the main industry in Greencreek. However, there are other small businesses too. You can find an auto repair shop called B and A Performance Auto. There is also a butcher shop named Sonnen Meats. Other businesses in the area include custom cabinet shops and general contracting services. Greencreek is part of the Cottonwood School District #242.
