Greenfield is a city located in Dade County, Missouri. In 2020, about 1,220 people lived there. It is the main city, or county seat, of Dade County.

History of Greenfield
Greenfield was first planned out in 1841. It got its name because of all the green plants and trees that were in the area. A post office has been open in Greenfield since 1850.
The town square in Greenfield has many buildings that were built in the 1880s. These buildings were made using bricks from the local Greenfield Brickyard. The Greenfield Opera House Building is a very special place. It opened in 1888 and is known as the "Jewel of the Square." Today, it is still used for plays by the Dade County Community Theater during the summer. The Opera House is so important that it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, along with the Washington Hotel.
