Greenland is a small community located in Ontonagon County, Michigan, in the United States. It's known as an unincorporated community, which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. It's also a census-designated place (CDP), which is an area the U.S. Census Bureau defines for gathering population data.
Greenland is about 1 mile (1.6 km) north of Mass City. A main road, M-38, runs along its northern edge. This highway can take you about 11 miles (18 km) northwest to Ontonagon, which is the main town of the county. If you head east on M-38, you'll reach Baraga after about 30 miles (48 km). Greenland was first officially counted as a CDP for the 2020 census.
The Start of Greenland
