Greentown is part of the larger Canton–Massillon metropolitan area.

History of Greentown

Greentown was officially planned and laid out in 1816. The community got its name because it used to be located in an area called Green Township.

Greentown Intermediate School serves students in grades 3 through 5. It has about 500 students. This building used to be a high school. Later, it became an elementary school, and then an intermediate school, after merging with the North Canton City Schools.

Middle and High School

Students in grades 6 to 8 go to North Canton Middle School. For high school, students in grades 9 to 12 attend Hoover High School. Both of these schools are located in North Canton.
