History of Greenwood
Important Places and Records
The Richards Historic District is a special area in Greenwood. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. This means it has important buildings and history that are protected.
Greenwood also holds a state record for snow! On February 7, 2010, after a big snowstorm, 28 inches of snow were measured near the town. This was the most snow ever recorded in Delaware from a single storm.

Getting Around Greenwood
Most people travel by road in Greenwood. U.S. Route 13, also known as Sussex Highway, is the main road. It helps people travel north and south. Other important roads, Delaware Route 16 and Delaware Route 36, also go through the town on Market Street.
A train line, called the Delmarva Subdivision, also runs through Greenwood. This line is part of the Delmarva Central Railroad.
