Greg Brady is a well-known Canadian radio host. He was born in 1971. Currently, he hosts a popular morning show called Toronto Today on Global News Radio 640 in Toronto. Before this, he was a sports radio host at Sportsnet 590 The FAN from 2010 to 2019.

From 2007 to 2017, Greg Brady was a regular announcer for NFL (American football) games shown on the BBC in the UK. He is also a frequent guest on the BBC Radio 5 Live show Fighting Talk. He holds the record for the most wins on this show. For over twenty years, he has also sent in sports reports from North America to different BBC Radio programs.

Greg Brady's Life and Career

Early Life and Education

Greg Brady grew up in London, Ontario, Canada. He went to the University of Western Ontario where he studied Political Science. After four years there, he completed a journalism program at Fanshawe College.

Starting in Radio

Brady began his radio career at CIXX-FM, which was the college radio station at Fanshawe College. Later, he worked at CKLW in Windsor, Ontario. In the late 1990s, he joined WDFN in the United States.

At WDFN, he had different roles before he started co-hosting "The Jamie and Brady Show" with Jamie Samuelsen. This show ran from 2002 to 2007. After leaving WDFN, Brady moved back to Canada. He then co-hosted The Bill Watters Show on AM640 Toronto Radio. He also presented Leafs Lunch on the same station.

Hockey Announcing

Greg Brady has also worked as an announcer for ice hockey games. He spent six seasons doing play-by-play for the Ontario Hockey League. He was the first-ever announcer for the Saginaw Spirit for five years. He also spent the 2007–08 season announcing games for the Windsor Spitfires.

Family Life and New Roles

Greg Brady is married to Rachel Brady, who is also a sports journalist. They have two young sons. On June 23, 2010, he left AM640. He wanted a better work schedule to spend more time with his family.

On August 16, 2010, Brady started at The Fan 590 with "The Greg Brady Show." He also began co-hosting Hockey Central at Noon with Doug MacLean and Nick Kypreos.

In February 2011, Brady became the interim host for the morning show on Fan 590. A month later, he was officially named the new morning show co-host alongside Jim Lang.

On February 8, 2017, it was announced that Brady would be part of a new morning show on Sportsnet 590 The FAN. This show, called "Sportsnet's Starting Lineup with Brady and Price," began on February 27, 2017. It featured Elliott Price, Brady, and Hugh Burrill.

In 2019, Brady moved from 590 to Global News Radio 640 in Toronto. He became the morning drive host in 2021. His program was renamed Toronto Today in September 2021.

Greg Brady also works as a freelance reporter for the BBC. This means he works for them on specific projects without being a full-time employee. The 2011-12 season was Greg Brady's most successful on Fighting Talk. He won six times and appeared in the "Defend the Indefensible" final five times. On October 8, 2011, he had a special double victory on the show's 8th birthday. This win put him ahead of his rival John Rawling with 41 wins in total. By May 19, 2012, Brady had achieved 44 wins in his Fighting Talk career. His success that season earned him his first appearance in the "FT Champion of Champions" show.
