Nikos "Nick" Kypreos (born June 4, 1966) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played as a left winger for eight seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL). His teams included the Hartford Whalers, Washington Capitals, New York Rangers, and Toronto Maple Leafs. Today, he works as a hockey analyst for Sportsnet, a TV network in Canada.

Playing Career
Nick Kypreos was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. When he was young, he played in the 1979 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament. He was a strong goal scorer in junior hockey with the North Bay Centennials. In the 1985–86 OHL season, he scored 62 goals, which was the second-highest in the league.
Becoming an Enforcer
When Kypreos joined the NHL, he found it harder to score goals. He quickly became known as an enforcer. An enforcer is a player who protects teammates and tries to intimidate opponents. He was never chosen in the NHL draft, but the Philadelphia Flyers signed him as a free agent. His NHL career actually began with the Washington Capitals.

Kypreos had his best NHL season in 1992–93 with the Hartford Whalers. He scored 17 goals, which was his career high. That season, he also had 325 penalty minutes, one of the highest totals in the league.

Career End
Kypreos finished his NHL career playing for his hometown team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. His career ended because of a serious injury. On September 15, 1997, he got a concussion during a pre-season game. After the injury, Kypreos suffered from post-concussion syndrome and had to retire.
He played 442 regular season games in the NHL. He scored 46 goals and had 44 assists, totaling 90 points. He also had 1,210 penalty minutes.
Television Career
After retiring from playing, Nick Kypreos became a hockey analyst. He worked for Sportsnet in Canada. He was a co-host on shows like Hockey Central. He also co-hosted Hockey Central at Noon on The Fan 590 radio in Toronto. This show was also shown on Sportsnet.
In October 2014, Kypreos joined the new Hockey Night in Canada as an analyst. This happened after Rogers Media got the national TV rights for the NHL. He continued in this role until 2019.
Kypreos also appeared on TSN as an analyst. He was notably there when Hockey Canada announced the Canadian national team for the 2010 Winter Olympics.
He even acted in a TV show once! In 1996, he played a pro hockey player in an episode of the HBO program Arli$$.
