Gregory Lawrence Graham (born November 26, 1970) is an American former professional basketball player. He played for five seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
College Basketball Journey
Graham played college basketball for the Indiana University Hoosiers. He was coached by the famous Bob Knight. During his time there, he played alongside other great players like Calbert Cheaney and Alan Henderson.
From 1991 to 1993, the Hoosiers basketball team was very successful. They won 87 games, which was a record for their conference at the time. The team was often ranked among the top 10 teams in the country. They won two Big Ten championships in 1990–91 and 1992–93. In the 1991–92 season, they even made it to the Final Four of the national tournament.
In the 1992–93 season, the Hoosiers finished as the top-ranked team in the country. However, they were defeated by Kansas in the Elite Eight round of the national tournament.
Professional Basketball Career
Greg Graham was chosen by the Charlotte Hornets in the first round of the 1993 NBA draft. He was the 17th player picked overall. He played in the NBA for five seasons, from 1993 to 1997.
During his NBA career, he played for several teams. These included the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets, Seattle SuperSonics, and Cleveland Cavaliers. On average, he scored 4.5 points per game in his NBA career.
Coaching After Playing
After his professional playing career, Graham returned to his old high school, Warren Central High School. He became a basketball coach there for seven seasons. He coached the team until April 2015. During his time as coach, his team made it to the Marion County tournament championship three times. He later moved to Rhode Island due to family reasons.
