Grus is a genus of large, graceful birds. These birds are part of the crane family, known as Gruidae. Cranes in the Grus genus are found in many parts of the world. They are famous for their tall legs, long necks, and beautiful calls. Many species of Grus cranes are quite large. They often live in wetlands and open grasslands.
